Using a Windows client

Step Action
1 Log in to your client using an account that has one of the following rights:
  • Domain administrator rights
  • Full control on the storage appliance C$ share
2 Download the following file to a directory like C:\Temp, for example, on your computer:

30801222.tar

You must have WinZip installed in your client to extract the file.

3 Go to the drive to which you downloaded the tar file.
4 Double-click the tar file.

Result: A WinZip dialog box appears.

5 Use WinZip to extract the service image files from the tar file to the \\[Filer_Name]\C$ directory on the storage appliance. The following options must be selected when extracting the service image files:
  • Overwrite existing files
  • Use folder names

Note: C$ should point to the root volume of the storage appliance. This is normally vol0. If C$ is not defined on the filer and you are having trouble determining which volume is the root volume, contact Network Appliance technical support.
